Ex Eagles Pro Bowler Contacted by WWE Ahead of WestleMania 40
Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is wrapped up in his recent retirement.
And now, he's the target of one of the most popular sporting events in the country, as it prepares for its Philadelphia episode.
WWE has reportedly reached out to Kelce to request some sort of involvement in its upcoming Wrestlemania 40, to be led at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday and Sunday. Kelce is a hugely popular figure in and around the City of Brotherly Love after spending his entire 13-season career with the Eagles, and WWE wants to cash in.
The annual event is no stranger to celebrities not normally involved with the sport, with names like Mr. T, Muhammad Ali, Cyndi Lauper and Liberace all having prior involvement with previous episodes.
Philadelphia's own Meek Mill will reportedly be present over the weekend, as well as rapper Lil Wayne. If Kelce is in attendance, it would be considered a major get for the brand.
Kelce's involvement would cause a stir from the mainstream media and outlets not normally involved with the sport as the seven-time Pro Bowler, six-time First Team All-Pro, Super Bowl champion and future Pro Football Hall of Famer is still a populer figure post-retirement.
If he appears this weekend, Kelce will join a long and distinguished list of NFLers like Lawrence Taylor, Rob Gronkowski, George Kittle, Reggie White, Steve McMichael and William "The Refrigerator" Perry.
