Jalen Hurts vs. Dak Prescott Debate Ends; Daniel Jones In Eagles vs. Cowboys Ranks?

"Daniel Jones will be the second-best quarterback in his division. Behind Jalen Hurts, he's better than Dak Prescott." - FS1, stirring up Eagles and Cowboys and Giants nonsense.
In this story:

The Jalen Hurts vs. Dak Prescott "Who's Better?'' argument is over ... for now.

A Super Bowl appearance led by a league MVP candidate in Hurts says it is so.

So with the Eagles at the top of the NFC heap - and not much reason to think they can't remain there - now how is the national media going to drag the headline-grabbing Dallas Cowboys quarterback into a conversation seemingly meant to belittle him?

Create a "Daniel Jones vs. Dak Prescott "Who's Better?'' argument.

That's how.

"Daniel Jones is a top-10 quarterback," Greg Jennings (the NFL player doing analysis) said this week on FS1's The Carton Show. "He's gotten paid, he's going to keep his head down, he's gonna continue to work.''

"Top 10''? That doesn't seem quite right, but Jones certainly made a leap in 2022, helping the New York Giants to a surprise playoff berth. But to be "top 10,' he's got to be better than ...

"(Jones) will be the second best quarterback in his division," Jennings asserted. "Behind Jalen Hurts, he's better than Dak Prescott."

Somewhere in this conversation is the money; Dak and Daniel are now quarterbacks both scheduled to make about $40 million APY. (Note: Word in Dallas is that Dak, along with Hurts, is zeroing in on yet another big payday.) But does that make Jones, who has one solid season under his belt, the same level of player as Prescott, who's been to the Pro Bowl twice, and who is the leader of a Dallas team with a two-year regular-season record of 24-10?

Jalen Hurts gets to be the winning answer to the "best QB in the NFC East'' debate; he's earned it. But Daniel Jones in the conversation? He's not yet earned anything in that regard, except an existence that allows the media to somehow, some way, no matter what, bring up Dak Prescott.
