FOURTH QUARTER

It has become a massacre. Eagles defense has 9 sacks today. Josh Sweat just got the first of his career.

Last time an Eagles player had a fumble recovery for TD was Derek Barnett on Christmas, 2017 went 23 yards for score. Last time Eagles had 7 or more sacks was Nov. 10, 2014 vs Carolina when they had 9.

So much for that Jets drive. Orlando Scandrick with his second sack of game. On this one, he takes ball away from Luke Falk and return for 44 yards and TD. Eagles salt this one away, lead 31-6

Hassan Ridgeway puts a dent in drive with his first sack of season for 8 yards. Eagles D now has 6 sacks of Luke Falk...

Jets convert two third downs on this drive and they are marching as clocj winds under 9 minutes and Eagles holding 24-6 lead...

Eagles offense goes three and out after that TD by Jets. Against a lesser team than Jets, I think Eagles would have a hard time winning today. Offense has scored just 17 points...

And there goes the shutout. Jets need only one play to score. It comes on an end around that fooled the entire Eagles defense...

With Sproles out, Corey Clement tries to return a punt and he muffs it, giving Jets ball at Eagles 19. Shutout on the line here...

THIRD QUARTER

Eagles now have 5 sacks today. Vinny Curry gets his first of season...

That Eagles drive that led to Jake Elliott 28 yard FG went 77 yards in 12 plays and 7 minutes, 8 seconds

Sproles gets his record and now is questionable to return with quad injury...

Darren Sproles is now 5th in the NFL in all-purpose yards, passing Tim Brown. He is behind leader Jerry Rice, Brian Mitchell, Walter Payton, and Emitt Smith...

Brandon Graham now has 3 sacks, his most in a ginle game since he had 2.5 back in 2012 against the Bengals...

Carson Wentz sneak on fourth and 1 goes nowhere. I believe that is first time he has been stopped on sneaks of 1 yard. At any rate, Eagles give up ball on downs for second time in game. Against a team better than Jets, Eagles would be in trouble in this game...

Eagles lead 21-0 and get ball to start second half...

Carson Wentz 10 for 18 for 106 yards and 1 TD, with passer rating of 91.4. After running for 176 yards last week, Eagles have 36 yards on ground this week. Jordan Howard has 23 yards and 1 TD on five carries. Jets have 70 yards of total offense. That is TERRIBLE. The offense also gave up a pick 6

Carson Wentz's 10th TD pass of season survives a review. This one went to Zach Ertz. That is Ertz's first TD of season. That is a surprise...

That was Rodney McLeod's first INT this season and his 7th with the Eagles. It is the second INT for Birds of Luke Falk...

Eagles now have 97 yards of total offense. Going the wrong way...

Penalites killing another drive that began with good field position, this one at the 49. But a chop block on Sproles negates a first down then Jason Peters is illegally down field after a completion to Dallas Goedert. Just a brutal job by this offense...

Brandon Graham gets credit for his second sack of game, which is also his second sack of season...

Doug Pederson loses PI challenge on a deep throw to Agholor. More hopeful thinking than pass interference. NFL doesn't overturn ruling on field when PI's are questioned.

Eagles offense with another terrible series. Wentz sacked a run for 2 yards then a deep incompletion. They have 99 yards of total offense with 7:32 to go in first half...

Eagles offense sort of stuck in neutral after that opening TD drive. Have squandered good field position. They start this drive at their own 42. Let's see if they can add on some points....

EAGLES TD: Jordan Howard plunges in from 1 yard on third down to give Eagles 7-0 lead with 7:44 to play first quarter. That is just the second time in 5 games the Eagles have scored in first quarter. The drive covered 9 plays, 53 yards and consumed 5:11 of clock. The Birds lead the league in third down conversions and went 3 for 3 on third down on that drive. That is Howard's team-high 5th TD of season...

ALERT: Darren Sproles needed 31 yards to move into 5th place in NFL's all-time all-purpose yards ahead of Tim Brown. He has 21 already...

Not a good sign that Eagles first run play goes of -1 yard with Miles Sanders and second play is a pass knocked down at line of scrimmage. But Jets were offsides...

Brandon Graham notched his first sack of season, decking Luke Falk 9 yards behind line of scrimmage. That was after Eagles defense held Le/Veon Bell to 1 yard on 2 carries ...

It's a good thing, Eagles and Jets don't play often. They're uniform colors are too similar. Today, Eagles will wear white bottoms and green tops. Jets in white tops and green pants...

 Former Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin is serving as today's honorary game captain. Love Maclin when he played here. Very sure-handed on the field and a good dude to deal with in the locker room. 

INACTIVE ANALYSIS

Eagles will go into Sunday’s game against the New York Jets with five cornerbacks, after Sidney Jones and Ryan Lewis were both active.

Jones had been questionable with a hamstring injury he suffered in the Eagles’ most recent game, a 34-27 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Lewis was signed to the practice squad earlier this week. He will wear No. 37.

The three other healthy corners up for Sunday’s game are Rasul Douglas, Orlando Scandrick, and Craig James.

Scandrick, who will wear No. 38, was signed earlier this week after being with the Eagles during training camp this summer.

Inactive for the Eagles are: cornerbacks Ronald Darby and Avonte Maddox, quarterback Nate Sudfeld, receiver DeSean Jackson, offensive lineman Nate Herbig, defensive end Shareef Miller, and defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan.

With Nate Sudfeld inactive, the Eagles are rolling with just two quarterbacks in Carson Wentz and Josh McCown, who played for the New York Jets last year.

Jackson will miss his third straight game and, outside a handful of snaps against the Atlanta Falcons in Week Two, has only been healthy for one game so far this season, and that was the opener against the Washington Redskins. In that game, Jackson caught two touchdown passes of more than 50 yards each.

Miller, a rookie fourth-round pick from Penn State, has not been active for any game so far this season.

The game against New York should also mark the debut of linebacker Duke Riley, who will wear No. 50. Riley was acquired earlier in the week in trade with the Atlanta Falcons. The Eagles sent safety Johnathan Cyprien to Atlanta for Riley.
