Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel revealed his opinion on the Philadelphia Eagles' Tush Push play that has become quite the talking point this season.

"It's kind of like their play," McDaniel said. "What makes them so successful is a commitment to leverage and detail, on something that a lot of people don't detail. I mean shoot, they leaned into it before it was successful, detailing it up and then it has I’m a huge fan of things that are within the rules of football that you can’t stop, that’s to their credit. I just want to respect and regard what goes into that."

The Eagles really started to utilize the play last season to maximize star quarterback Jalen Hurts' strength in short yardage situations.

Jalen Hurts is the key behind the Philadelphia Eagles Tush Push. No other quarterback has had similar success with the play since he's entered the league.

In 2022, Philadelphia used the play 41 times in short yardage situations such as third or fourth down and one yard to go or goal line situations. The Eagles were able to convert 37 out of those 41 times into first downs or touchdowns for a success rate of 90.2 percent.

Now, the play has become controversial as some in the football community have called for it to be banned from the sport. This season, many NFL teams have tried to replicate the success that Philadelphia has had with the play, but none have been able to do it quite as good or as often.

The Dolphins and the Eagles will be facing off on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. The game will be at Lincoln Financial Field and will be the first time that Philadelphia is wearing its new Kelly Green throwback uniforms.
