Micah Parsons ‘Sick to My Stomach’ After Eagles Land Jalen Carter
Given that he's a two-time All-Pro after a pair of seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, it's kind of shocking to remember that Micah Parsons lasted until the 12th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.
And when the Philadelphia Eagles landed Jalen Carter with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft Thursday, Parson's was left to acknowledge that Dallas' division rivals may very well have gotten a similar steal.
Appearing on Bleacher Report's NFL Draft show, Parsons admitted that the Eagles landing Carter to replace Javon Hargrave made him "sick to my stomach":
At 6-foot-3, 310 pounds Carter is one of the most physically-gifted players in the 2023 NFL Draft class. In his final season at Georgia, Carter racked up 32 total tackles, seven tackles for a loss, three sacks, three pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
Carter will join a defensive line that also includes his former college teammate Jordan Davis, along with Fletcher Cox, Haason Reddick, Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, Kentavius Street and Derek Barnett.
The NFC East hasn't had a repeat winner since 2001-2004, when the Eagles won the division four consecutive times. Parsons' reaction leaves you to believe he's wondering whether Carter landing with the Eagles will lead to Philadelphia snapping that streak and capturing the NFC East title for the second year in a row in 2023.
