Moving off Bijan Robinson to Offensive Lineman in Eagles-Only Mock Draft 2.0
When my mock draft 1.0 ran, the Eagles had not yet brought back Darius Slay and James Bradberry at cornerback or signed a pair of safeties in Justin Evans and Terrell Edmunds.
So, those positions are taking a backseat in this mock draft 2.0.
Here it is:
FIRST ROUND
No. 10: Paris Johnson, OL, Ohio State
As much as the pull of Bijan Robinson makes sense to me, it’s still difficult to stray from the Eagles’ philosophy of building on both sides of the line of scrimmage and looking ahead a couple of years the way GM Howie Roseman typically does.
I would still take Robinson here, but if he’s gone, give me Johnson.
Lane Johnson turns 33 in May and has battled injury and personal issues each of the last three years. He’s still one of the best if not the best, but a succession plan is probably in order.
Johnson makes a whole lot of sense to be the right tackle when that day comes, but he also has guard versatility, and on a line that lost one of the game’s best in Isaac Seumalo and another in Andre Dillard, who was being cross-trained at guard, during free agency, versatility will help.
Johnson is a load at 6-6, 315 pounds. He started every game at right guard in 2021 and moved over to left tackle last year. Also, he doesn’t turn 22 until July 3 and he was reported to be one of the Eagles' top-30 visits.

No. 30: Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Edge, Kansas State
The Eagles stick to their build-the-line-of-scrimmage mentality and take a high-energy pass rusher, who had 20.5 sacks in 27 career games. The first-team All-American is 6-3, 255, and had four sacks in a game two years ago against TCU quarterback Max Duggan.
SECOND ROUND
No. 62: Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa
It may be wishful thinking that Campbell will be here, but I’m thinking the Eagles may take a look at a linebacker here after losing two starters. Drafting one here, especially as talented as Campbell, to team with second-year Nakobe Dean would allow them to grow together over the next couple of seasons.
Known for his strong leadership, Campbell is also a tackling machine. Steady, if not flashy, he had 125 tackles this past season after 140 two years ago.
THIRD ROUND
No. 94: Sean Tucker, RB, Syracuse
One line in his scouting report stood out to me: “Snaps off crips downhill cuts on stretch plays.” Eagles love stretch plays and Tucker has a compact frame at 5-9, 207. While his pass-blocking needs work, count on RB coach Jemal Singleton to polish that.
Tucker had back-to-back 1,000-plus seasons, including 1,496 two years ago, with a combined 23 touchdowns in those two years.
SEVENTH ROUND
No. 219: Nathaniel Dell, WR, Houston
His nickname is Tank. At 5-8, 165, he’s anything but. Still, he has quickness in and out of his routes, scored 14 touchdowns in his final nine games with Houston, and has some punt and kickoff return experience on his resume.
He’s undersized, so he will likely still be on the board here if the Eagles are so inclined to bring in some slot competition for Quez Watkins and returner Britain Covey.
No. 248: Broderic Martin, DT, Western Kentucky
The Eagles have invited Martin in for a top-30 visit and is likely a day-three pick or an undrafted free agent. He wasn’t invited to the Scouting Combine, but at 6-4, 337 pounds he could find his way into a rotation with Fletcher Cox Jordan Davis, Milton Williams, and Marlon Tuipulotu. If nothing else, he could provide depth at the nose tackle position.
He had 62 tackles, six for loss, and four sacks in two seasons with Western Kentucky after transferring from North Alabama.
Last year, he started 14 games for Western Kentucky and was invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl.
