The Philadelphia Eagles are beginning to separate themselves from the rest of the NFL.

It took a while for the Philadelphia Eagles to get rolling against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, but as is often the case, they once again proved themselves as one of the NFL's best after finding a groove.

Philadelphia (7-1) came back in the fourth quarter to beat the Commanders in a 38-31 shootout at FedEx Field. With the win, the Eagles remained atop Sports Illustrated's Power Rankings, potentially proving that they should be the favorite to win it all.

"Philadelphia’s touchdown drive before the half on Sunday, which came on the heels of a disappointing red zone fumble, was as composed a moment from an NFL team as I’ve seen all year, and the perfect example of how stable and dependable this collection of parts is," SI writes. "I don’t care that it came against the Commanders, who are better than we’re giving them credit for at this point in the season. This was a projection of strength from a team we cannot ignore as an odds-on Super Bowl favorite at this point."

Even after a slow start and losing two fumbles inside the 10-yard line, Philadelphia still managed to put up its most points this season. Jalen Hurts completed 29 of 38 passes for 319 yards and four touchdowns. That performance marked the first time Hurts has thrown for over 300 yards and four touchdowns in a game.

A.J. Brown did A.J. Brown things with eight catches for 130 yards and two spectacular touchdown grabs. His performance against the Commanders marked the sixth straight game he's had over 125 receiving yards, breaking the previous record of five.

At this torrid pace with 60 catches for 939 yards and five touchdowns, Brown could be setting himself up to make even more history by the end of the season.

And when the defense needed to step up, they didn't allow a single fourth-down conversion on Washington's three attempts. Reed Blankenship's interception in the fourth quarter allowed Philadelphia to take the lead for good.

The Eagles are set to get another stiff test this Sunday when they host the Dallas Cowboys (5-2) at 4:25 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field.
