All-Pro Teams Announced, Four Eagles Make The Cut
The Associated Press has just announced the NFL’s 2023 All-Pro teams, and this year, four Philadelphia Eagles earned the prestigious honor.
- K Jake Elliott, Second Team
- OT Lane Johnson, Second Team
- WR A.J. Brown, Second Team
- C Jason Kelce, First Team
Only one Eagle made the first team this season, down from the two first-teamers and six total All-Pros a season ago.
This year, the lone Philly player to make the first team was Kelce, an honor he’s received six out of the past seven seasons.
Despite being 36, hosting a major podcast off the field, and having a documentary filmed of him, which suggests he’s closer to the end of his career than the start of it, Kelce remained the most dominant center in the entire NFL.
It was business as usual for Kelce’s fellow offensive lineman, Lane Johnson. At the age of 33, the tackle made his third straight All-Pro appearance and the fourth total in his career.
Another veteran living up to expectations was wide receiver A.J. Brown. Philly‘s star receiver made his second straight All-Pro team.
Brown followed up his 88 receptions, 1,496 receiving yards, 11 touchdown season from a year ago with 106 receptions, 1,456 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns this season.
The five-year NFL veteran has enjoyed tremendous success since getting traded from the Tennessee Titans to Philadelphia but, unfortunately, was unable to make the first team despite a six-game stretch earlier this season where he had over 125 receiving yards in each game. Much like the team overall, he cooled down later in the season.
Could Eagles’ Legendary Trio Be Preparing for Final Game?
Finally, one Eagle enjoyed a career year, kicker Jake Elliott, who made an All-Pro team for the first time. Elliott made a career-high 93.8 percent of his kick attempts and converted on roughly 98 percent of his extra point attempts.
Since coming into the league back in 2017, Elliott has been one of the best kickers in the NFL, and now, for the first time, he's finally been recognized as such by being named a second-team All-Pro.
