FANtastic: Cowboys Edge Eagles in One NFL Category
Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have crowed all offseason about closing the gap in the NFC East. In one category, they have already passed the Philadelphia Eagles.
While the teams will likely jockey for a division title on the field this season, a new study by Gambling.com reveals that the Cowboys have the NFL's "most annoying fans." And which fan base is ranked No. 2? Sure enough, Philly.
The research takes a look at the total number of social media posts made over the past year in which each fanbase is described as "annoying." There have been more than 15,000 social media posts in which Cowboys fans are described or portrayed as "annoying" or "irritating." The Eagles are next at 13,700, followed by the Buffalo Bills at 12,300.
The Top 5 most annoying: 1. Cowboys; 2. Eagles; 3. Bills; 4. Kansas City Chiefs; 5. Green Bay Packers.
Bills Mafia. The Chiefs' current run of Super Bowl success. The Packers and their small-town, title-town bravado. And, of course, the Eagles and their unbridled passion.
But, we agree, what makes the Cowboys the most annoying is the fact that they haven't even been to an NFC Championship Game in 28 years yet they arrogantly walk around like they've won the last 28 Super Bowls.
At the other end of the spectrum, Jacksonville Jaguars fans appear to be the least annoying with only 210 disparaging posts about them in the past year. Also among the harmless - apathetic? - fan bases: 32. Jaguars; 31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers; 30. Washington Commanders; 29. Houston Texans; 28. Atlanta Falcons.
