Cowboys' Jerry Jones Warns Eagles: 'We Are Better!’

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones issued a warning to the Philadelphia Eagles and the rest of the NFC East, claiming that Dallas is coming for the division title

The Philadelphia Eagles have plenty of goals in mind this season, and one of the most important ones is winning another NFC East title.

The Eagles have more than enough talent on paper to win the division again, as most of their roster from last year is still intact. Winning the division is easier said than done, though, as no team has won consecutive NFC East titles since 2004. Add in the fact that three teams in the division made the playoffs last year, and the fourth wasn't far off, and Philadelphia will have to stay sharp to repeat as NFC East champs.

While the New York Giants and Washington Commanders won't go down without a fight, the Dallas Cowboys are the Eagles' greatest competition in the division. Dallas also has a talented roster and Super Bowl aspirations of its own, and will be hungry to unseat Philadelphia as division champions. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is very confident his team will take the NFC East crown back, issuing a warning to the rest of the division.

“I will say that Philadelphia, and if you will the Giants and Washington team, they need to be on their game because we are,” Jones said at camp from Oxnard. “We’re going to be on our game. And we will be improved over last year. I don’t want dismiss how accomplished Philadelphia is, the year they had last year and where they’re starting this year. I don’t want to dismiss that. And the Giants definitely have a chance to be better. And Washington could be really energized. So I don’t need to handicap it relative to where we’ll end up. Just us, we are better.”

The Eagles and Cowboys have dominated the NFC East as of late, combining to win six of the last seven division titles. Last season, they split the season series with the home team winning both games. However, that comes with the caveat of each team missing their starting quarterback in the game they lost.

As usual, these teams will meet twice in the regular season once again, first in Philadelphia on Nov. 5 then in Dallas on Dec. 10. The Eagles and Cowboys have enough bad blood between them to make any matchup compelling, but with both teams pushing for a championship this season, the intensity increases tenfold.
