Philadelphia Eagles' Dallas Goedert Reveals Trash Talk During ‘Tush Push’
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert revealed that he talks trash to opposing players after the Eagles convert on a Tush Push quarterback sneak.
"I think told Aaron Donald he needed to come off the ball harder," Goedert said via 94 WIP. “I told a couple people that they needed to get their weight up. I tell them to stop jumping. A lot of times I just be telling them that they should just give it to us. We've had great success with that this year and we continually try to adjust and make that play better. A lot of detail goes into it to kind of perfect it the way we have."
Philadelphia converted three times on the play out of five attempts against the Los Angeles Rams in a 23-14 road win in Week 5. The most important attempt came with two seconds on the clock in the second quarter on the Rams' goal line. If the Eagles failed to convert, the half would be over and they would come away from the drive with no points down 14-10.
Jalen Hurts took the snap and followed his All-Pro center Jason Kelce up the middle into the end zone for a touchdown. The clock had expired and Philadelphia took a 17-14 lead and momentum into the half. The Eagles would completely shut out Los Angeles in the second half on their way to an undefeated 5-0 start.
Many in the NFL community have called for the play to be banned due to Philadelphia's high success rate when using it. However, no team in the NFL has seen nearly the same amount of success on the play and the NFL as a whole has struggled in the same situations.
The Eagles will attempt to continue their undefeated start in Week 6 on the road against the New York Jets on Sunday at 4:25 p.m.
