Short, and not so sweet. Before hanging up on a radio interview this week that included several questions about the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers' offensive hybrid star Deebo Samuel guaranteed his team would win this season's rematch.

The 49ers and Eagles are scheduled to play in Week 13 (Dec. 3) at Lincoln Financial Field, site of last year's NFC Championship Game and Philly's 31-7 thrashing that pushed it into the Super Bowl.

"Just wait until Week 13," Samuel said on CBS Sports Radio's Zach Gelb Show. "We’ll show you.”

In the wake of the title-game loss, Samuel was stubbornly adamant that his team would have won had quarterback Brock Purdy not gotten injured. Five months later, he stood by his comments.

Said Samuel, “I mean, I said what I said.”

After his prediction about this year's rematch, the phone went silent. A woman, likely the public relations staffer who set up the interview, then relayed that the the interview was over. The show was promised around 15 minutes of Samuel interview time, but because he apparently wasn't a fan of the Eagles questions and bailed after approximately five minutes.

With Purdy injured and the 49ers down to third-string quarterback Josh Johnson, the Eagles' defense bottled up Samuel to the tune of minus-9 yards rushing and only 33 yards receiving on three catches.

Entering that game Samuel said the rise of Purdy made the 49ers a football than the Eagles, despite the presence of MVP candidate Jalen Hurts.
