During his first training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles, rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter has left a significant impression, prompting his teammates to take notice of his remarkable talent.

One of the teammates who has been in awe of the rookie defensive tackle is running back Rashaad Penny, as he believes that going against Carter is similar to facing three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Aaron Donald.

"But if I just had to say anybody, I mean, Jalen Carter (laughs). I’ve never seen anything like that since playing against Aaron Donald. He’s got the intangibles for sure," Penny said via The Athletic.

In addition to Penny, offensive guard Sua Opeta believes that after going up against the rookie defensive tackle throughout training camp, he will shine on the field.

"I’ve gone against him, so I know how good he is," Opeta said. "I guess his ability to change direction in his pass rushes. He’ll go from like a quick move to a bull (rush), switch it up to a club. He’s a very savvy pass rusher. He has a lot in his toolbox."

As Carter looks ahead to his first season with plenty of hype, he will try to fill the massive void left by Pro Bowl defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, who departed for the San Francisco 49ers during free agency. However, if the Georgia product is anything close to what his teammates are saying about him, coach Nick Sirianni and the rest of his staff should be in good hands.
