Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith had three catches for 123 yards and a touchdown before the midway point of the third quarter in Thursday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Philadelphia Eagles relied heavily on the run game in the first half of Thursday night's home opener against the Minnesota Vikings, but you wouldn't have thought so after watching Philly's second drive of the third quarter.

After cashing in on an easy touchdown sneak from Jalen Hurts the drive before, the Eagles quickly got the ball back after a Vikings three-and-out and looked to build on a 20-7 lead.

Hurts did that and then some, as he connected with receiver DeVonta Smith on a perfectly-placed pass in stride for a 63-yard touchdown to build the lead. The Eagles had just scored two touchdowns in five offensive plays.

Smith had a 54-yard catch on the game's first drive, but the touchdown play certainly topped it. Take a look:

Smith had three catches for 123 yards and a touchdown before the midway point of the third quarter.

"It's elite! It's like I've been telling him since he was a rookie, he's way ahead of his class when it comes to route-running ability," Darius Slay said of Smith before the season. "I told him the other day, 'you're a guy that I've never seen before that can adjust like that in the middle of press man, hard press, catching.'"

Smith finished last season with seven receiving touchdowns and already has two in 2023 after scoring in Week 1 against the Patriots. Maybe he tops this total by regular season's end.

The Eagles will look to keep things rolling against the Vikings for the rest of Thursday's contest.
