Philadelphia Eagles star linebacker Haason Reddick is choosing not to look back on last season, including the Super Bowl loss, ahead of the Week 1 matchup with the New England Patriots

“From the success we had, to losing the Super Bowl, it’s over," Reddick said. "It’s a whole new year. Everybody is starting off 0-0, you don't know how this thing can end. So if you're still worried about how you played last year or worried about losing the Super Bowl from last year, you're already starting off distracted thinking about the wrong things. 0-0, new year. It's a new year of football, everybody has to let last year go."

Last year, the Eagles' season ended in heartbreaking fashion when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII. While it was a great season for the franchise, going 14-3 and cruising through the playoffs, the team's ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl wasn't fulfilled.

Reddick played a big part in Philadelphia's success in his first season with his new team, collecting a league-high five forced fumbles and a career-high 16 sacks. When he signed his three-year, $45 million contract with the Eagles in 2022, he was already familiar with their home field, having played college football with the Temple Owls who also play at Lincoln Financial Field.

Now entering his second year with the team, the goal is the same: win the Super Bowl. The path back to the big game starts with Week 1, when Philadelphia will be traveling on the road to face the New England Patriots at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday.
