Philadelphia Eagles Have No Answers for Dallas Cowboys, Trail Big at Halftime

The Philadelphia Eagles got hit another NFC power punch in the first half of Sunday night's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys and headed into halftime down 24-6.

The Cowboys (9-3) scored on all four of their possessions, giving the Eagles a familiar taste of last week's blowout to the San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles (10-2) had promising production on all three of their drives, but had to settle for a pair of field goals and were hurt by an overall stagnant offense that couldn't match Dallas' quick-strike unit.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts finished the first half 7 of 13 passing for 92 yards and added four carries for 28 yards. However, he fumbled right outside the red zone at the end of an 11-yard run on Philly's first drive, but still managed to keep the Eagles alive somewhat by leading a pair of field-goal drives.

Dak Prescott went 14 of 23 passing for 157 yards and two touchdowns. CeeDee Lamb had his way with the Eagle secondary, posting five catches for 65 yards and the game-opening touchdown, but it was Michael Gallup who had a potential early nail in the coffin with a one-yard touchdown with 20 seconds left in the half to put Dallas put by 18.

The Eagles need a spark, and got it with a fake punt on 4th and 2 that saw punter Braden Mann find Olamide Zaccheaus for a 28-yard gain. Philly got a field goal out of it, but the Cowboys weren't done.

Dallas put together another double-digit play drive that ended with a goal-line push from running back Rico Dowdle, who powered into the end zone from a yard out to make it a 17-3 game with 6:14 left in the second quarter.

The Eagles added another field goal toward the end of the half, but it felt all for nothing after Gallup's touchdown capped a 75-yard drive that took up 1:28 of game clock.

Philly will receive the second-half kickoff.
