BREAKING: Eagles Hiring Cowboys Ex Kellen Moore as Offensive Coordinator
After moving on from offensive coordinator Brian Johnson following just one season in the role, the Philadelphia Eagles have found their new play-caller.
Per reports Saturday night from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles are hiring former Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to fill the same role.
"Another big assistant move in Philadelphia: Eagles are hiring former Chargers and Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their offensive coordinator, per sources," Schefter tweeted. "Eagles coordinators now will be Moore and Vic Fangio.
Moore, 35, is now set to be an offensive coordinator for his third different team since entering the league as a quarterbacks coach with the Cowboys in 2018. He was Dallas' OC from 2019-22 before joining the Chargers last offseason, but only spent a year in L.A. and will not be joining the new regime under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
The Eagles also interviewed former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury for the role, but the team clearly felt Moore was the better fit. We'll have to wait to hear the exact reasons why, but Nick Sirianni likely needs Moore to perform well next season if the Eagles head coach wants to avoid the chopping block again.

Additionally, as Schefter noted, the Eagles officially introduced Vic Fangio as the new defensive coordinator on Saturday. He replaces Sean Desai, who has already been receiving interest from new teams.
This new coordinator pair will now look to change things around in Philadelphia and get the Eagles back to the Super Bowl-level expectations that they've set for themselves.
