Eagles' Haason Reddick Praises Jalen Hurts' 'Old Soul': 'Truly Humble!'
Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Haason Reddick has nothing but good things to say about his teammate and star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
"Just his character and who he is as a person," Reddick told FOX. "A truly humble, God-fearing man and a great teammate and a greater leader. To be as young as he is, he has this like old-soul feel to him."
Both Hurts and Reddick are coming off of the best seasons of their respective careers. Hurts had an MVP-caliber season with 4,461 total yards, 35 total touchdowns and just six interceptions on his way to a 14-1 record as a starter. Reddick also had the best season of his career in his first year as an Eagle, recording 16 sacks, 11 tackles for loss and a league-leading five forced fumbles.
This offseason, Hurts signed a five-year, $255 million extension that briefly made him the highest paid player in NFL history in terms of average annual value. He has improved every year he has been in the pros and showed last year that he could play with the best of the best.
Reddick joined Philadelphia on a three-year, $45 million contract before the 2022 season after spending a year with the Carolina Panthers. Before that, he was with the Arizona Cardinals for four seasons after they drafted him with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He attended Temple University in Philadelphia for four years after growing up in New Jersey. Reddick already has 47.0 career sacks and 16 career forced fumbles at just 28-years old.
The Eagles are coming off a Super Bowl appearance thanks to the stellar performances last season from Hurts and Reddick, who were arguably the most valuable players on each side of the ball.
Philadelphia will open the season on the road on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 4:25 p.m. against the New England Patriots.
