Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts talked about how the team needs to move forward after a disappointing 20-14 loss on the road Sunday to the New York Jets.

"We've been here before, it's all about how you respond to it," Hurts said. "I got a feeling that we'll come in with some great intensity and some of these things, they build character. I say that all the time it truly builds character so this team just has to respond the right way."

Hurts had one of the worst statistical performances of his career, going 28-for-45 for 280 yards, a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown and three interceptions.

Up 14-12 late in the fourth quarter, Hurts threw a pick to Tony Adams, who returned it 45 yards to the Eagles' 8-yard line. One play later, Breece Hall had a rushing touchdown to give the Jets the lead and the win.

Philadelphia came into the game as 6.5 point favorites on the road, and hadn't lost a game all season, starting 5-0 for the second straight year.

Hurts quarterback has only ever thrown three interceptions in one other game in his NFL career, a 13-7 loss against the other team that plays at MetLife Stadium, the New York Giants. Hurts has already thrown more interceptions this season than he did all of last year, when he threw just six picks.

Last season, the Eagles remained undefeated through their first eight games before losing 32-21 to the Washington Commanders.

Philadelphia will look to avoid losing two straight games when they play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field.
