After Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown apologized to his teammates and the media for his behavior over the course of the past few weeks, quarterback Jalen Hurts took time to acknowledge the courage it takes to speak up.

"He's taking leadership, taking ownership for some of the things that he's been out there, been doing and I appreciate him having the courage to do that in front of the team," Hurts said.

Brown had recently started not talking to the media after practices and games amid the struggles that he and the Eagles have gone through. After starting the season 10-1, Philadelphia is stumbling to the finish line and has lost four out of its last five games.

Across Brown's last eight games, he has only gone over 100 receiving yards once in a blowout loss at home to the San Francisco 49ers. Despite his recent struggles, Brown is still just 50 yards away from breaking the Eagles' single season receiving yards record that he set last season. He has also surpassed his career-high in receptions by a wide margin this season, catching 105 passes with one game left to play.

Hurts said that the recent struggles that the offense has gone through has allowed the team and specifically him and Brown to have more open conversation.

"It's allowed us to just have more conversations, be intentional about what we're doing and obviously chase the results we want," Hurts said. "It's a process that goes into that."
