Backyard Sports fans, rejoice!

The classic video game many played as kids could be coming back ... at least if Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce has anything to say about it. He revealed on a recent episode of New Heights of his plans to bring the game back.

“I don’t even know if I want to mention this. I’ve secretly been looking into seeing if anybody holds the rights to Backyard Baseball and Backyard Football because I want to buy it and get this thing going again," Kelce said on an episode of his podcast.

"That was the best thing ever! It was so electric. Can you imagine playing Backyard Football right now on your phone? You could do that whole thing on your phone. It wasn’t that complicated of a game.”

The "Backyard Sports" franchise began in 1997 with a baseball game but eventually morphed into other sports including soccer in 1998 and football in 1999.

The last edition of the franchise, a basketball game, was released in 2015 on iOS and Android devices. However, it's been nearly a decade without it.

Eagles fans would hope that Kelce holds off on those business plans for one more season in Philadelphia, but if he truly does hang his cleats up, it appears he has some ideas lined up for what's to come.
