Sexiest Man Alive Jason Kelce Takes Center Stage at Philadelphia Eagles Complex

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce talked about his whirlwind life, which includes being recently named one of People Magazine's Most Sexiest Men Alive
In this story:

PHILADELPHIA – One of the sexiest men alive was given the podium treatment inside the Philadelphia Eagles training facility on Thursday.

The podium treatment is usually reserved for head coach Nick Sirianni, his coordinators, and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Every once in a while, a player is made available behind the microphone that rests on a table on a stage inside the auditorium at the NovaCare Complex.

The stage was Kelce’s at the moment, though. Voted as one of the sexiest men alive by People Magazine recently, the Eagles longtime center, of course, was asked about it.

“Shoutout to People Magazine,” sad Kelce. “It’s continued to get more and more, and you just try to take it one day at a time. You try to stay grounded with it. You try to be realistic about it.

“You just try to keep being the same person that you are. It’s harder to go out. I went to the airport. That’s more difficult now than it used to be. Outside of that, you just try to keep doing what you’ve been doing. Obviously, something’s working.”

As for how it’s working out in the locker room, Kelce said most of his teammates are having fun with it.

“It feels weird for a man to say, ‘Sexiest Man,’ I feel that,” he said. “I think most people have a smile on their face. I think everyone is taking it a little tongue and cheek, and just having fun with it. I certainly didn’t anticipate ever being up for that award. Most people have just been having fun with it.”

It was enough to elicit a quick burst of laughter from quarterback Jalen Hurts when asked what it’s like to have a celebrity center.

“I don’t look at him that way,” said Hurts. “I look at him as my guy Jason Kelce. I know he’s a man of many abilities and many characters, but he’s a guy the city loves, his team loves, and I know one thing for sure, anything he does, and he gets himself into, he gets his foot in and always gives it 110 percent. That’s a credit to him and what he’s built for himself.”

Yes, Kelce has his foot in many different shoes, many he shares with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The brothers will meet on the playing field once again on Monday night in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, only this time it will be on KC’s home field, Arrowhead Stadium, not in Phoenix, where the SB was just nine months ago.

The rise of the Kelce’s off the field began with a podcast they do together called, ‘New Heights.’

Since then, they have recorded a single together, a remake of The Pogues’ “Fairytale of New York,” only with altered lyrics paying homage to the Eagles.

“I think, quite honestly, we could have gone up there and just completely butchered it, but the fact that we did the song, those people are going to be fired up regardless,” said Kelce. “Really, really happy that the reception has been good, and everybody has been fired up about it. And we have such good musicians that help us out.”

Jason, with several teammates, is also part of the second Eagles Christmas Album that’s been released and, during the bye week, joined Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit in the announcer’s booth for a Thursday night Amazon Prime Video broadcast in Chicago for a game between the Bears and Carolina Panthers.

Then, of course, there’s the connection with Travis Kelce and his romance with superstar pop sensation Taylor Swift. On Monday night, the parents of both Taylor and Travis are supposed to meet for the first time during the game.

Above it all, however, is the football.

Both Jason, 36, and Travis, 34, could find themselves enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame someday after they retire.

“He has his foot in everything right now, but I know he sees the game from a different perspective because he’s played it for a very long time and he has such strong knowledge in the game,” said Hurts about his center.

“From an IQ standpoint, the knowledge of the game standpoint (he), is definitely someone I can talk to about ball.”
