Eagles Coach Jeff Stoutland Pens Message to Jason Kelce After Retirement
Legendary Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce officially announced his retirement in an emotional press conference on Monday.
He thanked his family along with countless teammates and coaches during his 30-minute long speech, but made it clear throughout that there was one person that stood out among the rest during his 13-year career in the NFL: offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.
Kelce shared multiple quotes from Stoutland during the press conference before eventually thanking him for being the most influential person in his career.
"There's only one person in this building who still wanted me, and it's he who I have to thank most for the career that I've had. And that's Jeff Stoutland," Kelce said while fighting back tears. "No one has been more influential or meaningful to my success on the field and my career than Stout."
Stoutland responded later on with a message to Kelce on social media, though the two likely shared even more between each other behind the scenes.
"Jason, Some of my fondest coaching moments have been by your side these past 11 seasons," Stoutland wrote on X. "I’m so proud of the player you’ve worked to become and legacy you’ve built. I will miss having you by my side. It’s been my honor & I congratulate you on an incredible career. Stout out."

Stoutland joined the Eagles in 2013 as a offensive line coach before taking on the additional role of being the run game coordinator in 2018.
Without Kelce at center, Stoutland will now lead a new-look offensive line next season.
