Philadelphia Eagles' Jordan Mailata Reacts to Loss To Cardinals: 'Very Disheartening'
Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata broke down how the locker room was feeling after a disappointing 35-31 loss at home to the Arizona Cardinals.
"It’s very disheartening," Mailata said. "I think we have a lot of pride. It’s tough when you drop one like that. It’s real hard. We said it’s playoff mode, then we come out here and play like that."
The Eagles came into the game as heavy favorites but were unable to get the job done. After starting the season 10-1, they have lost four out of their last five games and are stumbling into the playoffs.
If Philadelphia was able to defeat Arizona, it would have been able to clinch the NFC East title and two seed in the NFC with a win over the New York Giants in Week 18. Instead, it is looking far more likely that the Eagles will end up as the fifth seed in the NFC and will be playing on the road in their first playoff game.
No team has won back-to-back NFC East titles since Philadelphia won four straight from 2001 to 2004. It is the longest drought of its kind for any of the divisions.

It looked as though the Eagles were in prime position to break that streak multiple times in the past few weeks, but the wheels have come off in Philadelphia as of late. The Eagles struggled to beat the Tyrod Taylor-led Giants and fell to Drew Lock and the Seattle Seahawks.
Now, with one week remaining in the regular season, Philadelphia is heading towards a very disappointing end to the year if things don't turn around soon.
