Unfounded Rumors? Adam Schefter Shuts Down Report of Eagles Locker Room Drama

ESPN's leading NFL reporter made it clear that an FS1 host's comments weren't substantiated when it came to the Philadelphia Eagles' locker room.
In this story:

You can take the television host out of the radio station, but you can't take the radio station out of the television host.

Craig Carton, former WFAN host and now FOX Sports 1's host of "The Carton Show" turned heads Tuesday when he stated that he heard rumblings of locker room turmoil inside the Philadelphia Eagles organization and that "it cannot be fixed."

Turns out, the same man arrested for wire fraud back in 2017 may not have the right scoop inside the Novacare Complex.

ESPN's Senior NFL reporter Adam Schefter spoke on 97.5 The Fanatic Wednesday morning and began pouring cold water over Carton's Tuesday ramble.

“I texted someone in the organization yesterday, and the text I got back was, ‘None of that ‘S’ happened,” Schefter stated on the John Kincaide show. "That is what qualifies as a report, and people hear about it."

Now before we laugh at a clear radio host trying to bring people into his show every day as they normally do, there are reasons to believe there was internal strife throughout the 2023 season for Philadelphia. For starters, less than a full year after leading the team to the Super Bowl, concerns over quarterback Jalen Hurts' leadership grew late in the season, while punt-returner Britain Covey also acknowledged there was "finger-pointing."

On-field concerns and finger-pointing aren't what Carton was talking about, though. The former WIP host stated that the rumors he were of "off-field problems" that "would splinter any group of men."

Eagles 'Have to Do Something' About Hurts' Decision-Making

So while there certainly are conversations being had in the locker room to improve from last season's 11-6 finish and poor Wild Card loss, the idea that Carton has truthful reports might be the most laughable out there.

True to form, though, the long-time radio host wasn't done just yet.

"Eagles fans are funny," Carton said in a tweet. "Tough guys 4 sure but also a bunch of snowflakes - whining all day about me saying I know what happened in Philly - didn't say what it is just that I know what it is."

Any bets on whether Carton knows that the top NFL reporter refuted his "claim" in under 24 hours?
