Eagles QB Jalen Hurts: 'Best Performance Ever!' Say Super Bowl Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones has all-time high praise for Jalen Hurts and his effort in the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl LVII defeat.
In this story:

Many notable things emerged from the Philadelphia Eagles' loss in Super Bowl LVII ... some of them lessons to build on, painful and otherwise. And then there is this ...

Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones said that even in defeat, Hurts "had the best performance in the Super Bowl that I've ever seen of a quarterback."

Jones, an elite player in his own right, made the revelation as part of NFL Network's annual ranking of the 100 best players. We are going to assume that Jones wasn't counting his own QB, but still ...

Hurts is now officially in the top tier of NFL players on arguably one of the most notable list of rankings, as the NFL's Top 100 Players finished its reveal this week by showing fans who the top 10 talents are in the league -  as voted on by the players themselves. This all unfolded on Monday ... And that happened to fall on Hurts' 25th birthday ... and he landed at No. 3.

Only Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson and Chiefs quarterback Mahomes beat out Hurts, as they were ranked No. 2 and No. 1, respectively.

Last year, Hurts led the Eagles to a 14-3 record and into the Super Bowl after finishing the regular season with 3,701 passing yard, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions while adding 165 rushing attempts for 760 yards and 13 more touchdowns. That's what made him an MVP candidate for the season ... building up to what the Chiefs think was an all-time effort in the Super Bowl.
