Eagles Complete Draft Trade with Texans, Move Out of 2nd Round
The Philadelphia Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman have made another trade in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Eagles have traded out of the second round on Day 2 of the draft by coming to an agreement with the Houston Texans. Philly was set to pick at the bottom of the second round at No. 62 overall, but gave this pick to Houston. Here's the full compensation.
Eagles get:
- No. 65
- No. 188
- No. 230.
Texans get:
- No. 62
The Texans selected Penn State center Juice Scruggs with the Eagles pick.
The trade now means that the Eagles will make back-to-back picks at the start of the third round, as they received the No. 66 selection on Thursday from the Arizona Cardinals in the tampering settlement involving Arizona's hiring of former Philly defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.
The Eagles are looking to build off of their first-round selections of Georgia defenders Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith, who met with the Philly media on Friday.
“Just like at Georgia, I looked up to the veterans, just like Nolan he's a veteran to me, Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, all them guys, I looked up to them guys and followed behind them, and they taught me every step of the way and they got me where I'm at now,” said Carter.
