Eagles Full Schedule: Game-by-Game Predictions
PHILADELPHIA - Happy Logistics Day!
That's what I like to call the annual unveiling of the NFL schedule because we already know the opponents the Philadelphia Eagles and every other team across the league are facing. What we had confirmed on Thursday night were dates and times.
If you want real educated guesses about each encounter check back on game weeks. Call this a first impression for the reigning NFC champions.
Week 1 - Sept. 10: Eagles at New England Patriots, 4:25 ET
- The bad news is that the Eagles head to Foxborough for the season opener when New England is planning to honor Tom Brady so the fans should have some extra juice. The good news is Brady is no longer playing and the Patriots are not nearly as good as Philadelphia right now. The Super Bowl LII rematch will go the Eagles’ way. (1-0)
Week 2 - Sept. 14: Minnesota Vikings at Eagles, Thursday Night Football, 8:15 ET
- Oof. Tough spot for the Vikings. The Eagles were the first team to expose Minnesota as a good team not ready to play with the heavyweights in the home opener last season, drubbing the Vikings 24-7 in what was a 13-win campaign for Minny. If anything, the Vikings look like they’ve taken a step back and simply will not be able to deal with a rapid crowd in Philadelphia again. (2-0)
Week 3 - Sept. 25: Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Monday Night Football, 7:15 ET
- The Bucs are in rebuilding mode and are projected to be one of the poorer teams in the NFC this season in the post-Tomy Brady era. Make it 3-0 to start.
Week 4 - Oct. 1: Washington Commanders at Eagles, 1 ET
- The first NFC East game for the Eagles is with the newly-minted Sam Howell and the Commanders. The NFL is making it easy for Philadelphia early. (4-0)
Week 5 - Oct. 8: Eagles at Los Angeles Rams, 4:05 ET
- Believe me, at this point, you’re searching for a logical loss, and flying cross country from East to West would typically be it. The Rams, however, are a far cry from the Super Bowl LVI team and are paying the price for going all in for that championship right now. L.A. should be more competitive with a healthy Matthew Stafford but will ultimately be outgunned. Make it five straight to begin the season. (5-0)
Week 6 - Oct. 15: Eagles at New York Jets, 4:25 ET
- The Jets have never beaten the Eagles in the regular season but now have Aaron Rodgers. If the NYJ are ever going to beat Philadelphia, this feels like it with Rodgers and an ascending roster so let’s pencil the first loss. (5-1)
Week 7 - Oct. 22: Miami Dolphins at Eagles, Sunday Night Football, 8:20
- The Dolphins are a talented group but not ready to compete with the top teams on the road. The Eagles get back on track. (6-1)
Week 8 - Oct. 29: Eagles at Washington Commanders, 1:00 ET
- The annual trek down I-95 to dilapidated FedExField is typically an Eagles' takeover and this will be no different. A glorified home game and the sweep of the Commies is secured. (7-1)
Week 9 - Nov. 5: Dallas Cowboys at Eagles, 4:25 ET
- This shapes up as a home-and-home split so give the Eagles the win at the Linc. (8-1)
Week 10 Bye Week
Week 11 - Nov. 20: Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs, Monday Night Football, 8:15 ET
- The Eagles will be looking for Super Bowl LVII revenge on the road against the best coach/QB combination of this era. Ain’t happening. The Chiefs win again. (8-2)
Week 12 - Nov. 26: Buffalo Bills at Eagles, 4:25 ET
- Talk about a talent laded back-to-back. Buffalo and Josh Allen follow Mahomes and the Chiefs but the home crowd, and Allen’s penchant for the big mistake in big situations, should help avoid any kind of losing streak. Perhaps a Haasan Reddick strip-sack for the win. (9-2)
Week 13 - Dec. 3: San Francisco 49ers at Eagles, 4:25 ET
- Did people really believe Brock Purdy was coming into Philadelphia and winning the NFC Championship Game? If the Niners want NFCG payback they better hope Trey Lance figures it out while Purdy recovers from the torn UCL tied to a lack of pocket presence with Reddick bearing down. (10-2)
Week 14 - Dec. 10: Eagles at Dallas Cowboys, Sunday Night Football, 8:20 ET
- This is the game that would likely secure the NFC East if the Eagles can steal it but the Cowboys are too talented to get swept. (10-3)
Week 15 - Dec. 17: Eagles at Seattle Seahawks, 4:25 ET
-Maybe the most logical loss on the schedule. This is the East-to-West trip that gets the Eagles. Seattle is one of the more underrated teams in the NFL and the 12th man is real in the Pacific Northwest. (10-4)
Week 16 - Dec. 25: New York Giants at Eagles, Christmas Day, 4:30 ET
- The NFL is giving out Christmas presents to Philadelphia fans and Boston Scott with this one. The Eagles own the Giants, especially at Lincoln Financial Field. (11-4)
Week 17 - Dec. 31: Arizona Cardinals vs. Eagles, 1:00 ET
- Eagles fans will have to wait to get their pound of flesh from Jonathan Gannon but this should be a gimme late in the season. (12-4)
Week 18 - Jan. 6-7: Eagles at New York Giants, TBD
- I'm guessing the Eagles won't need this one and the NYG get the meaningless win. (12-5)
