Eagles ‘Not In A Panic Mode' with Passing Game

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni addressed concerns about the offense following Week 2.

Entering Week 3 with a 2-0 record, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni talked about some of the concerns surrounding the team’s passing offense so far.

"We're not in a panic mode or anything like that," Sirianni said. "Have the pass numbers been down? Yeah. Does the defense play into that? Of course it does. And fortunately for us, we're able to win on the ground and we're able to win in the air. You are able to balance off of what the defense does. I thought Brian and the offensive staff did a phenomenal job."

Through the first two weeks, Philadelphia has thrown for 154 yards in Week 1 against the New England Patriots and 171 yards against the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, the NFC champion Eagles averaged 241.5 passing yards per game.

The offense has still been above average so far this season thanks to a great running game. They only rushed for 97 yards in the first game but had a monster game on the ground against the Vikings, rushing for 259 yards on 48 rushing attempts. Last season's per game average was 147.6 rushing yards per game.

While star quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn't been putting up any gaudy numbers with his arm, he hasn't needed to. Philadelphia is 2-0 thanks to strong defensive performances in both games and having the overall talent edge each week.

The Eagles will return to the field on Sept. 25 at 7:15 p.m. for a Monday Night Football matchup at Raymond James Stadium against Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
