Eagles' Nick Sirianni Reveals Excitement For Patriots Matchup
Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni spoke about how he was feeling ahead of a Week 1 showdown with the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. Looking to get Philly back to the Super Bowl, Sirianni appears prepped for the season to begin.
"Always excited about when you're able to go out there and put your talents on display," Sirianni said. "I'm excited to see these guys play. I'm excited for them to go out there and put on a good performance. We gotta be on our stuff cause we're playing a really talented and well-coached football team."
Sirianni is about to begin his third season as Philadelphia's head coach, and he's had about as good of a start to his tenure as possible. In his first season, he led the Eagles to a playoff appearance in an overachieving season. Last year, he coached them to a 14-3 record and an appearance in Super Bowl LVII.
Of course, the next step for Sirianni and Philadelphia is to win the Super Bowl. The previous coach, Doug Pederson, was the first head coach in Eagles history to bring a Super Bowl to the city and team. While most Philly fans still love Pederson, Sirianni has already shown he can continue the success that his predecessor started.
The Eagles will begin their quest back to reaching the Super Bowl on Sept. 10 at 4:25 p.m. when they travel to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough to take on New England.
