Philadelphia Eagles Power Rankings: 'Clear Flaw' Needs Addressing?

After an exciting overtime victory, how do the Philadelphia Eagles stack up compared to the rest of the league through four weeks of football?
In this story:

The Philadelphia Eagles are the only remaining undefeated team in the NFC through the first month of NFL action. The Eagles are fresh off an overtime victory on Sunday, gutting out a 34-31 win over the Washington Commanders at home.

Despite the division win, Philadelphia remained at No. 4 in Pro Football Network's power rankings, which zeroed in on two weakness that the Eagles need to address.

"The Eagles are still an incredibly talented roster, but there is a clear flaw in their construction, and it will likely force Howie Roseman into aggressive mode before the deadline" writes PFN. "Philadelphia needs to improve up the spine of their defense. Although their defensive tackles are outstanding, their linebacker and safety play has been their defense’s Achilles heel."

"The passing attack had a nice day, but a few big plays that the Eagles picked up because of coverage miscommunications from Washington artificially inflated the passing numbers. That remains an area they must improve moving forward."

Coach Nick Sirianni has said the Eagles are "building," so anything but a complete product is hard to expect through four weeks. In the Week 4 win, linebacker Nicholas Morrow became the Eagles’ first off-ball linebacker in 37 years to record three sacks in a game... so "clear flaw" could be considered an overreaction, though that doesn't mean that there's not areas of needed improvement.

Next up, The Eagles fly west for a Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at Sofi Stadium on Sunday. The defending NFC Champion Eagles look to keep their undefeated streak alive against a Rams team who has been surprisingly successful through the first month of NFL action.

An Eagles win in Los Angeles would go a long way in building momentum as Philadelphia enters a tough seven-game stretch of the season.
