Eagles Punter Arryn Siposs: Job In Jeopardy?
Philadelphia Eagles punter Arryn Siposs could be playing for his job in their last preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday.
Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro hosted an AMA on the r/Eagles subreddit where he answered a few questions from Philadelphia fans.
One Eagles fan asked a question about whether or not the team was "content" going into the season with Siposs as their punter.
"It's an important game for him and he knows it," Spadaro said referring to the Eagles upcoming game against the Colts. "Howie is always keeping his eyes open and with him, you just never know."
Siposs was an above-average punter during the 2022 season, but injured his ankle late in the year against the New York Giants. After a mediocre playoff performance and a very poor performance in Super Bowl LVII, many fans were calling for a new punter.
This offseason, Philadelphia brought in undrafted free agent Ty Zentner out of Kansas State to compete with Siposs for the punting job. While Zentner impressed in training camp and the preseason, it wasn't enough to stay on and he was released.
Zentner's release doesn't guarantee Siposs the job though, as Spadaro hinted at the Colts game being a make-or-break for him.
The Eagles will take on the Colts on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Philadelphia.
