Eagles RB Saquon Barkley Slams Tiki Barber: 'You Been a Hater!'
In news that dominated NFL headlines on Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles will be signing former New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley to a deal once free agency officially begins.
However, not everyone's happy for Barkley, who will reportedly be signing a three-year, $37.75 million contract that could be worth up to $46.75 million.
Giants legendary running back Tiki Barber voiced his dismay with Barkley bolting for a division rival, and used some strong words in the process.
“You’re dead to us, Saquon!” Barber said. “You’re dead to me!”
Barkley responded to Barber on X (formerly Twitter), and didn't hold back.
First, Barkley stood by his decision to sign with Philly.
"@TikiBarber lol yup you’re the prime example of loyalty to a team.. I got the deal I wanted, secured more gm which wasn’t given to me before… so if fans are gonna hate me for that so be it! But I never turned my back on my teammates and always had theirs."
After that, he took a direct shot at Barber.
"@TikiBarber you been a hater since I got to New York … and all the “Dead to me” talk don’t smile in my face when you see me."
Barkley, 27, is a native of Coplay, PA. He stayed in-state and spent three years at Penn State before being the No. 2 overall pick by the Giants in the 2018 draft.

In six seasons with New York, Barkley played in 74 games while posting 1,201 carries for 5,211 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also tallied 288 catches for 2,100 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The rivalry between the Giants and Eagles was already heated, but things just ramped up to another level ahead of the 2024 season.
