PHILADELPHIA – Rookie camp opens in South Philly on Friday, and the Philadelphia Eagles are busy locking down their draft picks.

Just a few hours after signing Jalen Carter to a four-year contract, the Philadelphia Eagles signed two more of their selections from last week’s 2023 NFL Draft.

Sixth-round quarterback Tanner McKee and seventh-round defensive tackle Moro Ojomo came to terms Thursday evening.

McKee came from Stanford. He completed 62 percent of his passes last year with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

“As far as who I am as a quarterback and what I'm going to bring, I feel like I'm going to try to do - I'm going to bring whatever the coaches and whatever the Eagles need from me,” said McKee on the night he was drafted. “Stanford was a lot more pro-style offense. I'm excited to fit in with a very good offense, obviously, with an unbelievable offensive line and tons of weapons on the outside.

"I feel like I have a lot of different assets, and I'm excited to display those.”

Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Ojomo enrolled at the University of Texas at the age of 16. He played five seasons there. Last year, he had 32 tackles, including 5.5 for loss, with three sacks.

Draft picks taken beyond the first round get four-year deals, with the slotted values of the contracts for McKee and Ojomo to total about $4 million each.

Carter, who, along with former University of Georgia teammate Nolan Smith was a first-round pick, signed a fully-guaranteed four-year, $21.8 million contract.

The three draft picks are the first three players taken in the draft to sign their rookie deals. Clearly, the Eagles aren’t wasting any time getting their new guys inked and doing it before they take the field and meeting rooms for the weekend.

The team has yet to make anything official regarding which undrafted free agents they signed, but they, too, will be in town for the weekend. It’s also expected that uniform numbers for the newcomers will be released on Friday as well.
