Eagles QB Tanner McKee Reveals Meaning Behind Plain T-Shirt
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee is getting his first opportunity to be a professional during the preseason. However, the signal-caller is using a simple reminder to keep himself grounded and remember that he is living out his dream.
During Thursday night's game against the Cleveland Browns, which ended in an 18-18 tie, McKee sported a black Nike t-shirt on the sideline. When he took the podium after the game, he appeared wearing the same t-shirt he had worn during the game. When questioned about his choice of attire, McKee explained the significance behind wearing the shirt.
"I’ve had this since high school. It’s kind of reminding me of living the dream. Just being on the field. I could be anywhere working and I get to play football for my job. Yeah, I like this shirt," McKee said.
While in uniform during the game, McKee played a pivotal role in the Eagles' tie against the Browns. The Stanford product took charge of the entire second half and was crucial in orchestrating a fourth-quarter comeback. He helped the Eagles overcome an 18-10 deficit with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Brady Russell. He then connected with receiver Johnny King on the two-point conversion to tie the game.
While McKee is anticipated to receive minimal game action during the regular season, barring significant injuries to Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota, he will get another chance to fulfill his dream on Aug. 24 as the Eagles prepare to host the Indianapolis Colts at Lincoln Financial Field.
