Eagles Trade for Derrick Henry vs. Draft Bijan Robinson; Where's RB Value?

The Eagles could be looking to add someone to sit atop the running back depth chart. The Bijan Robinson NFL Draft rumors are everywhere ... and now a Derrick Henry trade rumor is rolling ...
In this story:

The Philadelphia Eagles, led by GM Howie Roseman, have kept the rest of the league guessing when it comes to what they'll do with the No. 10 overall pick in this week's NFL Draft. But one thing is certain: The backfield is going to look different in 2023 than it did a year ago, with Pro Bowl running back Miles Sanders out the door to Carolina via free agency.

And who is coming through that door to replace him? Speculation has created a great debate about whether Philly should draft Texas running back Bijan Robinson at No. 10 ... and what we can label as "gossip'' suggests another name: Tennessee Titans superstar Derrick Henry.

The Eagles did add Rashaad Penny, a former first-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks, on a one-year, $1.35 million prove-it deal. But in his five-year career, Penny has played in only 42 games due to injuries. But otherwise, a "full-time'' running back would be helpful to the NFC's best team.

We have covered the Bijan concept in great depth; see below. But what about  the Titans? Rumors persist that they are considering a strip-down of the roster (though their front office denies that), and rumors persist about the availability of Henry - so much so that the Titans' local newspaper has suggested a trade package that would see Philadelphia sending the No. 62 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and a 2024 third-round pick to Tennessee in exchange for Henry and the No. 186 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

In terms of talent, that trade is a massive win for the Eagles, especially because it doesn't cost Philly their first-rounder at 10 (or the other first-rounder the Eagles own, at No. 30). Henry, age 29 with a 2023 salary cost of $10 million, joining a backfield that already features Jalen Hurts? A scary thought for NFC foes - maybe even more scary - given Philly's ability to retain those picks in this scenario - than Bijan in midnight green.
