Eagles BREAKING: Steelers Trade QB Kenny Pickett to Philly
The Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers are making some major in-state headlines on Friday.
Per reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Steelers are trading quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Eagles.
“Trade: Steelers are sending QB Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles in a pick swap, sources tell ESPN,” Schefter tweeted. “Once Pittsburgh signed Russell Wilson, Pickett preferred to move on.”
The Steelers will get pick No. 98 and two 2025 7th-round picks while the Eagles will get Pickett and pick No. 120.
Pittsburgh recently signed Wilson to a one-year deal. Now with the trade, Wilson will be the Steelers’ QB1 while Jalen Hurts has a new backup in Philly.
The Eagles and quarterback Marcus Mariota parted ways in free agency after the former Heisman Trophy winner disappointed in limited action. Tanner McKee didn’t play as a rookie in the QB3 spot behind Hurts and Mariota, but many expected him to become Philly’s longtime backup after impressing in the preseason.

However, Pickett, 25, provides more experience. The former Pitt Panther and No. 20 overall pick in the 2022 draft has played in 25 career games while going 446 of 713 passing for 4,474 yards, 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He’s also added 97 carries for 291 yards and four more scores.
