Eagles vs. Cardinals Week 17: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Eagles halted a three-game skid last week against the Giants, as the 33-25 win ended New York's postseason hopes. After three consecutive losses to San Francisco, Dallas and Seattle, rumors of Philadelphia's demise was greatly exaggerated.
Although it wasn't the best performance by quarterback Jalen Hurts and Co., it was good enough to knock off the division-rival Giants and solidify the Eagles' hold on the division lead.
With a win over the Cardinals and a Cowboys loss or tie, Philadelphia will wrap up its second consecutive NFC East title. It would be the first time since 2003-2004 that the East saw a repeat champion when the Eagles won four crowns in a row.
Philadelphia still has a shot at the No. 1 overall seed and a first-round bye although it'll need some help.
Hurts has been criticized for his inconsistent play this season on the heels of an MVP runner-up performance last year.
“Every competitor handles and channels different emotions in different ways," Hurts said. “How we channel that as a team, as long as we’re doing it together, as long as we’re on the same page, that’s all that matters.”
Hurts is tied for second in the league with 18 turnovers with 13 interceptions and five fumbles, but his 15 rushing touchdowns are an NFL record.
Eagles' Attention Focused on 'Ballhawk' Baker
“We just want to continue to grow through these experiences," Hurts said, “the lessons we’ve had over the last month, and channel it in the right way for us as a team, so we can be as successful and be what we’re called to be on the field.”
