Eagles Draft Texas WR Xavier Worthy in Way-Too-Early 2024 Mock

After a strong showing in the 2023 draft, this mock draft looks to 2024 and who the Philadelphia Eagles could potentially select in the first round.

Even though the 2023 NFL draft has been over for less than 24 hours, we are already starting to see our first mock drafts for the 2024 draft. While a mock draft this early is impossible to predict, it is still interesting to see where teams are predicted to finish and who they might be linked to.

This is especially true for the Philadelphia Eagles, who boast one of the NFL's most complete rosters, which opens up the possibilities for their potential pick. In PFF's way-too-early 2024 mock this is exactly the case as the Eagles have the No. 31 overall pick and select receiver Xavier Worthy of the Texas Longhorns.

The Eagles certainly aren't lacking receiver talent as the duo of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined for 2,692 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns on 183 receptions in 2022. However, the addition of Worthy could give the Eagles a deadly receiver trio.

Worthy burst onto the scene as a freshman for Texas in 2021, recording 62 receptions for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns. He did have a bit of a "sophomore slump" to the tune of 60 receptions for 760 yards and nine touchdowns, but it was revealed that he played the back half of the season with a broken hand.

Even in a down year for Worthy, though, he was still Texas' leading receiver and will once again likely be one of quarterback Quinn Ewers' favorite targets next season - especially if he stays fully healthy.

There is no way to accurately anticipate what the draft order will look like a year in advance, or to predict which players will be first-round talents. That being said, it is hard to ignore the allure of adding Worthy to an explosive Eagles offense that already features one of the NFL's best receiving duos.
