Taylor Swift 'Eagles' Song Lyric? Pop Music Icon Makes Loyalties Clear in Philadelphia

Taylor Swift continued to her legendary "Eras" tour in Philadelphia this weekend. And guess who her favorite NFL team is?
In this story:

It is a classic accidental joke famous in the annals of pop music. The artist or the band, traveling from city to city, can hardly keep straight exactly what locale they are playing in on this particular night. So ...

"We love you, Boston!'' comes out of the lead singer's mouth, even though the band is on stage in Boise or Baton Rouge or Baltimore.

But 33-year-old pop legend Taylor Swift, who continued her gigantic "Eras" tour in Philadelphia over the course of this weekend, made no such mistake. Her loyalties are clear - in song and in statement.

“I did see the debate about (her NFL fave) ... I have a lyric that says, ‘With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door,’” Swift told her audience, referencing the song "Gold Rush.'' "I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles and I love the band the Eagles. ...''

Ms. Swift was born in West Reading. And she went to middle school and high school in Wyomssing. So she wasn't just playing to the audience, but rather, telling her truth, when she clarified the lyric and its meaning.

So, guess who her favorite NFL team is? It's the team that has given here great Super Bowl pleasure recently, just as she does for millions of her fans.

"Guys, come on. I'm from Philly,'' Swift said. "Of course it's (not about the band) ... it's the team."
