Ranking the Top 25 Eagles from the 2022 Super Bowl Season: Nos. 11-15

Day 3 of our rankings turns to spots 11 through 15 in our rankings, plus who we have ranked so far and how this ranking compares to our preseason rankings

Back in August, before the Eagles’ Super Bowl LVII run blasted off, colleague John McMullen and I did a daily countdown of our top 25 best Eagles players.

Now that we know what we know, we have done another set of rankings, taking a look at our top 25 best Eagles during this past season’s 16-4 match that ran through the middle of February before ending with a 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The rankings were derived when McMullen and I submitted our top 25 list to each other and didn’t look at each other’s list until both were submitted.

Like our preseason poll, this one also assigned point values from one to 25, with a first-place vote counting for 25 points, a second-place vote counting for 24 points, and all the way down to a vote at No. 24 accounting for two votes, and a vote at No. 25 counting as one point.

Instead, of releasing one player in the rankings each day as we did during the preseason, we will count down in groups of five, which means our final five, from 21 through 25 begins Saturday and will run each day thereafter as the countdown continues.

Here we go, with rankings No. 11 through 15:

NO. 15: LANDON DICKERSON, 21 POINTS

(preseason poll No. 15: OG Landon Dickerson)

The second-year offensive lineman remained status quo from his preseason ranking. He battled through some nagging injuries at times but made all 17 stars this season to earn his first Pro Bowl nod.

NOS. 13 AND 14: JAMES BRADBERRY/JOSH SWEAT, 28 POINTS

(preseason No 13: QB Jalen Hurts; No. 14: CB Avonte Maddox)

It’s one of those anomalies where McMullen had Bradberry 14th and Sweat 10th while Kracz had it flipped the other way – Sweat 14 and Bradberry 10. That’s not the only strange thing at this spot. Take a look at the preseason rank of Hurts. Way off on that one.

Some context in that preseason rank: Kracz had him No. 9 on his list; McMullen No. 19. Obviously, the QB will be found later on in these rankings. How did he climb? Stay tuned.

NO. 12: JORDAN MAILATA, 29 POINTS

(preseason No. 12: Javon Hargrave)

The left tackle struggled early after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 4 that kept him out of one game. When he returned, he had to adjust to wearing a shoulder harness. He got better as the season went along and finished strong, earning a spot as an alternate on the Pro Bowl team.

NO. 11: CHAUNCEY GARDNER-JOHNSON, 30 POINTS

(preseason No. 11: Brandon Graham)

The defensive back didn’t arrive until the end of August in a trade with the New Orleans Saints. After missing training camp and having to get acclimated to new teammates and a safety role after spending his time with the Saints as a slot cornerback, Gardner-Johnson had a terrific season. Despite missing five games with a lacerated kidney, he still tied for the NFL lead in interceptions with six.
