Philadelphia Eagles Early Betting Favorite vs. Green Bay Packers in Brazil

While the Green Bay Packers may have gone further than the Philadelphia Eagles in last year's playoffs, it's Philly that opens the season in Brazil as favorites.

Despite the fall-out from dropping six of their final seven games to end the 2023 season, Las Vegas remains very high on the Philadelphia Eagles entering the new league year.

The Eagles last week were given a 10.5 win total for the upcoming season - one of the highest in football. Now, they appear to be favorites for the first game of the year.

When the Green Bay Packers were picked as Philadelphia's season-opening opponent in Brazil to kick off the 2024 season, many pointed to the competitive nature of both teams, and how each ended their season with different results.

The Packers got hot later in the year and rode the young quarterback Jordan Love to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Philadelphia, obviously was blown out on the road to Tampa Bay in the Wild Card round.

Despite their opposite trajectories last season, BetOnline has the Eagles as -3.5 point favorites over Green Bay with the total set at 46.

The Eagles finished 2023 at 11-6 after starting the year 10-1. They were the second team in NFL history to ever start that hot, but not win 12 games during the regular season. While their hard schedule attributed to the team's downfall in the stretch run, questions of locker room turmoil grew as the season continued on.

Starting fresh with a win to kickstart the new league year will be important. For the Eagles, they get one of the toughest opponents on their 2024 slate out of the way early.

And Vegas appears to still fly with the Birds.
