The Philadelphia Eagles now officially know who they'll be playing when they travel to South America to play in the NFL's Inaugural Brazil game to help kickoff the 2024 season.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles will play the Green Bay Packers on Friday, Sept. 6 in Sau Paolo, Brazil in Week 1. It will come a day after the league does its annual Thursday night season-opening game, which likely will feature the defending-champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The Brazil game will be streamed exclusively on NBC's Peacock, but fans in the local Philly market will be able to watch the game on regional networks.

Per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman, Packers president Mark Murphy told reporters in Orlando at the league meetings that the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay were the two teams expected to be in contention to play the Eagles in Brazil.

The Eagles will be the designated home team for the game, which led many to believe that the Browns would be Philadelphia's Week 1 opponent in order to save a big-name team like the Packers for the rowdy crowd at Lincoln Financial Field later in the season.

Instead, fans in Brazil will now be treated to what should be an exciting game between two of football's most historic teams.

The NFL will release the full 2024 schedule at a later date.
