The Philadelphia Eagles experienced an epic collapse to end last season.

After beginning the season with a 10-1 record and in full command of the NFC East, the Eagles walked into the Linc to play the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 3. They went home with a 42-19 loss, and won just one more game before the end of the season.

The Dallas Cowboys won the East at 12-5 while Philadelphia walked into the Wild Card round at 11-6. To make matters worse, the Eagles didn't show up for the playoff game in Tampa, losing 32-9.

But it's a new season, and last year's collapse should be in the rear-view mirror. But will it?

On the "Zero Blitz" podcast, Yahoo Sports' Jason Fitz and Frank Schwab offer thoughts on the Eagles entering this season, and if there should be chapionship-level hype.

"I don't think Kellen Moore has shown anything to deserve the level," Fitz said. "It's like Eagles fans weren't scared of Kellen Moore when he was an offensive coordinator, so why are you going to tout him when you got him? And I also think as much as this is a revolving door of coordinators for the Eagles, I think the Eagles are -- they have more question marks than people want to admit. I'm down on the Eagles."

Schwab added, "If you would have told Eagles fans this is the conversation we're having when they were 10 and 1 after beating the Buffalo Bills in overtime-- I believe that's the 10th win for them-- you would've just been like, what? No, the Eagles aren't in disarray. We're 10 and 1. We're heading to another Super Bowl. No. No, it didn't happen that way. Just an absolute debacle to end the season last year in Philly."

The bottom line?

Schwab continued, "We'll see. Yes, Philly is absolutely one of those teams where-- not just a year ago. But from mid-November last year, we have completely changed how we think of Philly."

Fitz thinks the Eagles have the talent, but the mood feels very different in Philly.

"I will say this. I don't think that the Eagles are bad," Fitz said. "I just don't think that they're automatically Super Bowl contenders. That's the biggest difference. Last year, they were Super Bowl contenders, right? This year, it feels like they're like an eight-win team. Maybe they sneak their way into the playoffs. They're good, not great."
