Kirk Cousins Doesn't Want To Be Like Shaq, Promises Atlanta Falcons 'Championship' Effort

Kirk Cousins Doesn't Want To Be Like post-Los Angeles Lakers Shaq, Promises Atlanta Falcons 'Championship' Effort
In this story:

By most any definition and in most any field, a career "like Shaq's'' would be a triumph. But Kirk Cousins wants something more.

"I want this to be my final stop,'' Cousins said to Shaq himself on the NBA legend's podcast. "No offense, but I don't want to go play for the Suns and the Celtics at the end. I want to finish with the Heat, if you will, and be done."

Cousins, who spent time with Washington and Minnesota before his big-money signing with the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, is having some fun with Shaquille O'Neal, who may best best-known for his championship times with the Los Angeles Lakers ... but who also bounced around the NBA during his iconic career, playing for four different teams in his final four seasons.

Cousins wants that ring ... but he'd like to finish up his career with out the "bounce-around'' ... and in Atlanta.

"I'm going to be committed to doing everything I can to help us win a world championship," Cousins said.

Cousins said that his kids are too young to know too much about his work at his previous stops, suggesting that the children will likely grow up thinking of him as a Falcon.

"I want to finish strong," said Cousins, who signed a four-year, $180 million contract with a Falcons team that now feels it is a contender. "People remember how you finish more than how you started. So the start was good, but I want to finish really strong here in Atlanta."
