Atlanta Falcons Fans Ready to 'Run Through a Wall' After Raheem Morris Hype Speech
The Atlanta Falcons kicked off a new era on Tuesday with the beginning of their offseason program. Or, as the Falcons’ official Twitter account called it, “Day 1 of The Plan.”
While it is common for most teams to share videos or pictures of the team throughout the year, whether it be practice, games, off-season, or in-season. However, unless it’s for a documentary or Hard Knocks, fans rarely get inside access to a team meeting.
That is exactly what the Falcons gave fans on Tuesday. They posted a six-minute video from coach Raheem Morris’s first official team meeting of the offseason, in which he not only showed his charismatic personality but also set out the vision.
"I want us to be world-class in everything we do, ...” Morris said to the team.
“We're going to identify some problems, and we're going to attack them. …
"Let's start working on our identity. Identity doesn't come to life until you start working on this stuff. ... I want this to be competitive, I want this to be tough, and I want this to be a physical football team. Let the results land where they may."
“The plan,” as Morris called it, is already in the works. As he explained in the meeting, he was already communicating with many of the Falcons’ top stars, like newly signed quarterback Kirk Cousins and running back Bijan Robinson, among others. Ultimately, Morris expressed his desire not only to be seen as their coach but as someone whom the players can always talk to, as he wants to create "a team and family environment."
Morris's speech seemed to resonate with the players and even the fans, many of whom said the meeting had fired them up.
