Most of the top players in free agency have already signed with new teams, but even after two weeks, there are still some quality players available for the taking.

One such player is veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell, who spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons. The 37-year-old may be in the twilight of his career, but after putting up 56 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks last season, he proved he can still play at a very high level.

Still, the six-time Pro Bowl selection remains unsigned so far. Now that free agency has quieted down, though, some teams may begin to show more interest in Campbell. If the Falcons are out of the running, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell believes the Philadelphia Eagles could be a viable suitor.

“The only thing Campbell hasn't done in his career is win a title,” Barnwell writes. “While his defensive line coach in Baltimore was Joe Cullen, who currently serves in that role for the Chiefs, he's not a great fit for what Kansas City wants to do on the defensive side of the ball and what it needs to add after re-signing Chris Jones.

“The Eagles, on the other hand, will play a fair amount of 3-4 under Vic Fangio and need to supplement their defensive line rotation after Fletcher Cox's retirement. You know general manager Howie Roseman doesn't need an invitation to sign a defensive lineman.”

Philadelphia’s defensive line has been the team’s greatest strength over the past few seasons, so adding a veteran presence like Campbell should be right up their alley.

The door is not closed on a return to Atlanta, though, and if the Falcons have interest in bringing Campbell back, there’s no doubt he would be a great asset on the field and in the locker room.
