Falcons Request Interview With Bills Coach Joe Brady
Reports of the Atlanta Falcons hiring legendary coach Bill Belichick to be their next coach are heating up, but until that news becomes official, they're still exploring all avenues.
According to CBS Sports, the Falcons have requested to interview Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady for their head-coaching vacancy.
Brady, 34, first came to Buffalo as a quarterbacks coach in 2022, but after the firing of Ken Dorsey in November, the Bills promoted Brady to take his place.
He employed a more-balanced approach than his predecessor, and it's worked wonders as they are 7-1 (including playoffs) with him calling the shots. Under Brady's guidance, the Bills went from a team that looked dead in the water to now facing the defending-champion Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
Previously, Brady served as the Carolina Panthers' offensive coordinator in 2020 and 2021, but was let go late in his second season. Given the fact that the Panthers have been somewhat of a train wreck lately, though, it's hard to blame Brady too much for his short tenure with the team.
However, Brady is most-known for his work in the college ranks, as he was the passing game coordinator for the legendary 2019 LSU Tigers team. He was one of the architects of one of the best offenses in college football history that led the country in scoring and total offense, averaging 48.4 points and 568.4 yards per game.
That team boasted several future NFL stars like Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson, but Brady certainly deserves his share of credit.

The Falcons are reportedly the first team to request an interview with Brady this offseason, and while they may have already zeroed in on their top target, it's good to see them keeping their options open.
