The Atlanta Falcons are once again saying goodbye to one of their former draft picks.

The team announced today that it is cutting third-year offensive lineman Justin Shaffer, whom the team selected out of the University of Georgia in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Shaffer, who turns 26 in June, has gone back and forth from the practice squad to the main roster since he was drafted two years ago. However, he has yet to make an appearance in an NFL game for the Falcons.

It's possible that the Falcons could look to bring Shaffer back someday, but for now, it appears the two sides are heading for divorce.

Perhaps Shaffer will be able to find a new NFL home, one that may be easier to move up the depth chart, unlike the Falcons, who boast one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.
