The Atlanta Falcons selected Utah cornerback Clark Phillips III in the fourth-round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The third and final day of the 2023 NFL Draft is underway, and the Atlanta Falcons have made their first of three scheduled selections.

With the No. 113 overall pick, the Falcons drafted Utah cornerback Clark Phillips III, who many thought would be a top-100 selection

SI's Draft Bible described Phillips as "aggressive" and "fluid," grading him as a late second-round pick, only adding to Atlanta's value.

"Phillips will garner a role in the NFL thanks to his athletic traits," Draft Bible writes. "He must prove that he is stable enough against bigger receivers to gain the label of a true outside corner. If not, a role in the slot is warranted thanks to his football intelligence and jitterbug movement skills."

The 5-9, 184-pound Phillips is considered to be highly competitive and projects as a potential starting nickel in Atlanta, where there's a long-term need.

The Falcons were scheduled to have two fourth-round picks, the other of which came from the Tennessee Titans as trade compensation for receiver Julio Jones, but that selection (No. 110) was included in the second-round trade-up for Syracuse offensive lineman Matthew Bergeron.

As a result of other trades, the Falcons will not be on the clock again until the seventh round, holding picks Nos. 224 and 225 to close out the draft.
